Visit Paro Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) Monastery
Recommended Duration: Eight hours Experience the spiritual essence of Bhutan with a hike to the iconic Tiger's Nest Monastery. Perched dramatically on a cliffside, this sacred site offers breathtaking views and a sense of tranquility. It takes 30 mins by car to reach the Taktsang base. From the base it takes around 2-3 hours to climb up to the temple. -
Visit Drugyel Dzong
Recommended Duration: Two hours Visit the recently restored Drukgyel Dzong, a unique fortress nestled in a quaint village with beautiful pristine scenery. It was almost completely destroyed by fire in the early 1950s. In 2016, to celebrate the birth of The Crown Prince, as well as to commemorate two other significant events, namely, the arrival of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel to Bhutan in 1616 AD and the birth year of Guru Rinpoche, the Dzong was decided to be rebuilt and reinstated to its former glory. -
